About Becky.
Hi. My name is Becky and I am a currently training to become a clinical solution focused hypnotherapist trained by CPHT (Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training) and based in Fiskerton, Nottinghamshire.
I believe and know through experience that solution focused hypnotherapy can be transformational. I am passionate about what I do through Bee Positive Hypnotherapy and am committed to helping people to be the best version of themselves.

My Story
I fell in love with Psychology during my A' Levels which led to studying Psychology at university and then becoming a Psychology teacher. I have worked in education for my whole career, teaching in sixth forms, primary and secondary schools and a nursery. During this time I have had a range of pastoral roles, including head of year, supporting children who are in foster care and supporting young people with a a range of social, emotional, mental health and well-being difficulties. During COVID I began working at the Virtual School where I had oversight of the education of looked after children in East Sussex. I was then an Assistant Educational Psychologist for two years, working with schools, children and young people with additional communication, behaviour, social and emotional needs. With a recent relocation to Fiskerton, I have returned to the Virtual School in Nottinghamshire.

The most rewarding parts of my career have been supporting others with their mental health and well-being. With this in mind, becoming a counsellor has always been something I have considered. During my treatment for breast cancer, both myself and my daughter were fortunate enough to have solution-focused hypnotherapy. For me, my hypnotherapist helped me to focus on the positives in my life. As my treatment came to an end I began to deal with the fear of reoccurrence, it enabled me to look at how I wanted my future to be instead of focusing on what I could not change. It helped me to process my anxiety, sleep better and regain a positive outlook on life. With my daughter, I noticed her confidence increase and her ability to deal with life's difficulties improve. She became more positive.

My family's move to Nottinghamshire allowed me the opportunity to reassess my next steps. Training as a solution-focused hypnotherapist was the obvious next move. Not only have I seen first hand the benefits it can bring, the principles fit with the way that I try to approach my life:
-
Positive: I focus on the positive change and achieving the best possible future.
-
Person Centred: I focus on your outcomes and the skills and abilities you have to be able to achieve these.
-
Solution Focused: I focus on what you want to achieve rather than the problems that have already occurred,
-
Based in neuroscience and psychology: solution focused hypnotherapy is underpinned by up-to-date research and brain-based therapies.

Why bees?!
Bees are are crucial to the health of ecosystems and our own physical health. Much like positivity and creating a constant flow of positive neurotransmitters are essential for maintaining our mental well-being, bees are essential in the maintaining the well-being of the environment around us. In addition, bees are constantly active and social in a positive way.
Bees have personal meaning for me as well. During my breast cancer treatment I would sit in the garden and watch them go about their busy little lives. When I was having a difficult day, a bee would often fly past and make me smile. Just watching them could boost my mood. My family and friends soon realised my love of bees and many cards and gifts came my way, showing me I was loved and and cared about. Having bees feature in my own business was inevitable!
